As I mentioned last week, my love for the pink bomber was born on the day I tried on Valfré’s Mermaid jacket at Lady Petrova. Wearing it felt like a magical hug and though I fell head over heels for it, I was there to buy a dress I’d had my eye on forever so I ended up leaving the bomber behind. A week later it was sold out and I really regretted not buying it, so I started looking for an alternative.
One of the highlights of Melissa’s new A/W ’15 collection, “Star Walker”, is the return of the collaboration with Alexandre Herchcovitch. It’s been a few years since he last designed something for the brand, but the Brazilian fashion designer is back with three amazing new styles: a cool brogue called Backless, his floral version of the Queen flat, and this stunning Flower Boot featured on today’s look.
One of my biggest fashion dilemmas is keeping things casual. It’s not something I do really well, ’cause I always seem to end up dressing up a little more than needed. For instance, take that time last year when my mum decided to celebrate her birthday at Chandon, a winery less than an hour away from Melbourne. The best laid-back look I could come up with involved a peplum top with beaded Peter Pan collar that was once featured on “The Carrie Diaries” TV series. Seriously.
Last week I went on a trip with my family to spend a few days away in Phillip Island. A little over an hour from Melbourne, it is a very popular tourist spot in Victoria, but I had never been there before. Even though (or should I say especially because?) it was cold, I had an awesome time and really recommend going there for a few days if you can. Seeing the penguins come out of the ocean at night, bringing food for their babies, was probably the highlight of my week there. So adorable!
I can’t believe I ended up forgetting to blog about my Christmas outfit, especially because it took me forever to decide what to wear. I went a little crazy with the whole “early Christmas gift to myself” thing and had about four different looks planned out for the festivities. Sadly, I didn’t have four Christmas parties to attend, so I had to pick one.
