As I’ve mentioned before, Lady Petrova made the move into bridal wear earlier this year. The Melbourne designer closed down her Flinders Lane boutique where she stocked various labels as well as her own and set up a new home in the iconic Nicholas Building. This past July she released her first ever ready-to-wear bridal collection, “As You Wish”.
A little while back no fashionista would ever be caught dead pairing sneakers with skirts or wearing sportswear to dinner. Oh, how times have changed! The sports luxe trend is one of the biggest this season and a lot of people are in love with it. For a super stylish way of adapting it to your everyday life, there are two items you must add to your wardrobe: the sneaker and the bomber. We’re focusing on the jacket today.
As most of you who follow the blog will know by now, Lady Petrova is one of my favourite brands. It goes beyond the exquisite designs, though. Petrova Hammond, the woman behind it, is actually one of my biggest inspirations. The first time you meet her, there’s no chance you will be able to walk away without being impacted by her fairy-like persona, or at least her incredible orange hair à la Little Mermaid. She is the personification of her brand, a beautiful unicorn that makes you believe in glittery magic in the middle of a real-world grey metropolis. But don’t be mistaken by her love of everything girly – Petrova is one of strongest women I know, who’s built her cult brand from scratch and now runs one of the most quintessential Melbourne labels.
The Golden Globes are probably my favourite award show because they combine the best of both TV and movies and, consequently, some of the best that fashion has to offer. The 72nd edition took place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on January 11, and below are some of the best and worst looks of the night as well as a breakdown of the most prominent trends.
