#Unistyle Week 1 Recap

[EM PORTUGUÊS]

Last week was my first doing the #unistyle challenge, and if you follow me on Instagram you’ve already seen what I wore for days 1-5. On this post I plan on telling you a little more about each outfit.

Monday, day 1: First impressions matter, so it took me longer than usual to decide what to wear. I wanted something that was a little casual but still dressy, so in the end the classic blazer and jeans combo won. Since it’s still very warm, I went for this Forever New piece that is not only a perfect summer jacket in a light fabric, but also has an amazing pattern that always serves as a key piece. Once I decide for it, everything else can be pretty basic, such as this white tee and jeans. Nice but simple accessories finish this look.

Tuesday, day 2:  One thing I usually do when running late or on those days I can’t be bothered dressing up is going for an outfit I have already worn (multiple times) before. When I got to uni before 10am that day it was already super hot and I really didn’t feel like trying very hard, so I relied on this look I had worn for work the week before. It was easy, perfect for the heat and a little bit boho, just the way I like it.

Wednesday, day 3: Something else I always try to do whenever I need a little pick-me-up is wearing some of my favourite things. I knew that subject at uni was a summer intensive; I just didn’t anticipate how intense it would be. To boost my confidence I decided to wear one of my most favourite dresses ever. It hadn’t fit me for ages after I put on some weight, but now it does and this was the first time I wore it in a very long time. It made me super happy.

Friday, day 5: There was no outfit for Thursday because I skipped class that day. On Friday I felt like dressing up my favourite t-shirt with heels and a statement necklace because I was meeting a friend for lunch and a movie after class. The first time I saw this Mango tee I knew I had to have it, because I love its powerful message. Some people might think it stupid, but to me it is always a reminder that writing can make people feel less lonely and that we always need to be mindful of the things we say to each other, even online, because of the impact they can have. (I could write an entire article about it, really.)

Now you may have noticed I haven’t posted any outfits on Instagram for week 2, and the main reason is that I went on a little holiday with my family. However, after careful consideration, I decided to quit my summer intensive. As much as I was enjoying it (Latin is really fun!), it covers an entire YEAR worth of content in seven weeks and it’s super hard for something that is completely unrelated to my majors. If I stuck with it I’d have no energy left for semester 1, which starts straight after, when I’d have to work really hard on subjects that are extremely important for my course. I decided that knowing when to quit is actually a virtue, and so I’m back on holidays until the start of March.

What I want to know is: would you rather I keep posting a new outfit every day of what I would be wearing if I was still at uni, or would you rather I started the challenge back up in semester 1? Let me know what you think, as I’m really not sure what I should do!

  1. Hi there!
I think you should start the challenge up when semester1 starts! And in the mean time just more fun holidays snaps and outfits!
